We were like supposed to get started on the Merchant of Venice thing and before we even started, I flipped through the resource pack(activity book) and found a few pages on Shylock and Antonio.Shylock's a Jew, which means his religion is Judaism and Antonio is probably Christian.After I read the little comic about the whole story, I was just so surprised and shocked and like quite angry.To cut the long story short,Shylock was sort of arrested for wanting to kill Antonio and to save himself,(here's the part)he had to become a Christian.I mean, how crap is that?God will never want us to impose our faith on people, we are supposed to reach out and leave the results to him.I'm a Christian and I feel angry over this, how do you expect non-christians to be calm over this?!Well, yeah he may convert but where do you think his heart will lie?Its a wonder why he despises Antonio.If he does convert there will be no difference.Inside, he's still a Jew.Don't get me wrong, Christianity is great.Christianity today is proof of how we have gone far.Today, we give our 100% to Christ, and its not because we are forced to but we want to.God rocks!!But if you go back to the story, Christ is not even present in their lives.They care more about how MANY Christians they have not how many TRUE Christians that really love God.From that story, you'll wonder how many people truely are Christians.God loves all of us,Christian or not and he really wants us to find him and accept him as our Lord and Saviour but not by force!He is a really great God.It is human nature to sin but He forgives us and cleanses us.He never ever thinks that you are not good enough for him,he loves you all the same,even though you may be a thousand times naughtier or not as smart as another guy.Yes,this is the God that we Christians serve, and after some people read this story, I don't blame them for not wanting to know God or perhaps even hating Christians but know that if you change your mind, God will always welcome you back with open arms.
